Goldbaby Freeware E-mu SP-1200 drum machine samples

The SP-1200 was THE drum machine & sampler combo of legendary status among old school rap and hip hop artists from the eighties and nineties. It is similar to today's Akai MPC samplers – it is a sampler plus drum machine. It has limited sampling specs: 26.040 kHz and 12-bit resolution. However the dirtiness of that sound is great for hip hop and house music. http://www.vintagesynth.com/emu/sp1200.php

The free pack consists of "105 x 24 bit wavs created using an SP1200.Gritty, warm and dripping in sweet 12 bit dirt."

Vintage: mira cook – drum machine Video

A cool tribute song to the  Mattel Synsonic drum machine by  Mira Cook

Here is a small description of the beast by HollowSun

It was a cheap and cheesy toy and it sounded fairly horrible… but what else would you expect from a toy manufacturer's attempt to cash in on the emerging drum machine market of the early '80s?

Someone at Mattel…. who are famous for their Barbie dolls and other children's toys… obviously had this idea that the company could (somehow) capitalise on this trend and make a few bucks.

To be fair to Mattel, though, whilst everyone else was scurrying to make drum machines that played patterns, the Synsonic was more like a kid's mini-Simmons that could be played manually using the four large velocity sensitive pads.

Of course, it was all analogue – no samples – and as a result, not one of the sounds was in the slightest bit realistic!
